Tammy was looking for a female and April was a senior who got along so well with Walter who is 6, Tammy decided to take both. Bless Tammy and he love of the sweet bassets.
Winston's previous owner's 18 month old daughter recently began having allergic asthmatic reactions that have lead to episodes of severe breathing problems. Her doctor was reluctant to told them they should give our Basset Hound (Winston) away, but he stated for her "optimum" health it would be best if we gave Winston away and had a new house built that didn't have any carpet (which collects allergens). The episodes of difficult breathing our daughter has experienced have been scary enough to make us try anything the doctor suggests which may help to avoid them, and the doctor feels that unless we make some changes our daughter will remain on a fast track to developing severe asthma. Winston will be 7 years old in November. He is house trained and has lived inside, since he was 6 weeks old. As long as he gets a walk everyday, he's a pretty lazy dog. If he doesn't get a walk he'll pull the dishtowels from the oven handle, steal socks, and other antics to get attention. He is great with children and will simply walk away if they get too ruff with him. He loves people and has never met a stranger. He was taught to be a watch dog; he barks a mean bark when someone pulls in the driveway or knocks at the door, but once the door is opened he's instantly friends with whomever is there. He is neutered and he's in great health. The owner took Winston's pictures. The
black shoes he has on in the photos were to keep him from scratching their
hardwood floors.
