In Memory of Cleo

For Cleo who died in Rescue abandoned by her "Guardians" and taken in by Oregon Basset Rescue and by Washington Basset Rescue. We Loved Her.

We need another and a wiser and perhaps a more mystical concept of animals.

Remote from universal nature, and living by complicated artifice, man in civilization surveys the creature through the glass of his knowledge and sees thereby a feather magnified and the whole image in distortion. We patronize them for their incompleteness, for their tragic fate of having taken form so far below ourselves. And therein we err, and greatly err. For the animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complete than ours they move finished and complete, gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren, they are not underlings; they are other nations caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendor and travail of the earth.

Cleo was supposed to have been "part Basset Hound" but as you can see its probably just little bit part Basset. .maybe no Basset Hound at All!! lol She is tho a HOUND and very very cute. Cleo LOVES car rides and is delighted to just be WITH SOMEBODY!

She needs a good home though even if she is only a smidge Basset..we took her into rescue in a heartbeat! Cleo and is so easy to have around and so cute with her Beagle long legs (compared with a Basset Hound that is!) Cleo has small paws with  toes that point INWARDS!!!

Cleo has had a lot of love given to her when she got saved by her good friends in Oregon especially by one little girl who we know loved her ALOT! ahh Cleo was also given SpongeBob Square Pants Cheese Crackers and Cheeze Whiz so she is a couple of pounds overweight. Cleo is a comfortable sort of dog, very very cute too.

See the necklace that the little girl made for her? What a darling girl to love Cleo so! Cleo is! a sweet little dog. She is just waiting here in the Rescue (on a big DIET..only two crackers a day here!) She is on the "Green Bean Diet"

Cleo is 4 years old. She needs to have someone to adopt her who is willing to give her two pills a day morning and night and to be able to do the two "blood work ups" done twice a year that she needs so the Veterinian can be sure to see she is getting the right ammount of thyroid medication. The medication does not cost much but the Vet checkups twice a year would probably be about $120. to $190.00 a year depending on the price your Vet would ask to do the two workups.

Cleo is waiting here on the Ottoman by the piano which she has decided is "her spot" a place where she is sure to get lots of pets as it is right in the center of the living room! lol Smart little dog! Come and give Cleo a chance shes a good one!
