In Memory of (King) Larry Dog Bobo
The Basset Hound

Larry came to us in the fall of 2000. He had many homes before ours. He was born June 25, 1996. He died of cancer May 1, 2009. Larry was an unusual basset hound. He was misunderstood by most who did not know him. He had the best howl of all time. It was deep and loud. When he barked his front paws would leave the ground. He loved his evening walk. He would bark and bark until he had his walk each night. It broke our hearts as he got old and could no longer take his evening stroll. He loved his  basset brothers, Dexter and Butch, but always let them know he was in charge.  He enjoyed playing with his new smaller wiener dog brother, Sniper. Larry always wanted to know what was going on around him. He would sit in front of the window or out on the deck for hours just watching. Larry was "King" at the forth Basset Blast, he also won second most freckles and best howl at other basset blasts. He loved going to "The Blast", it will not be the same without  him. Our family feels blessed to have had Larry be apart of our lives. He was unique, entertaining and special. He will be forever missed.

Ruth Martha, Jonathan, Sarah and Andrew

My son would come over and Larry would come up behind him and let out his big bark.  Mike would always jump and would look at me a say. "He grinning isn't he", then turn and give him a love.

Larry was very SPECIAL and a wonderful STINKER.  Larry loved come up to you and let out this wonderful loud, deep bark. Larry when out on a few adoption trails before Martha adopted him.  One adopter he barked out at them as they were getting him out of the car and they brought him back. Martha came over, she was going to foster, she loved on all the rescue bassets (many great ones) and after watching them all, with Larry doing his stinker act - Martha decided on him.  She became a foster failure.

When Larry was King, he opened the Blast with his wonderful strut, barking (welcoming everyone), Wonderful Ham.

Martha has so many wonderful stories of Larry and Larry was to lucky to have Martha and her son Andrew that loved and understood this silly boy.
